Why 36PACs?
What are PACs (Proanthocyanidins) and why are they so important?
  • PACs are the bioactive components of cranberry and have an anti-adhesion effect on a variety of bacteria.
  • PACs attack the Pili receptors on bacteria to prevent adhesion. They also adhere to the uroepithelium to minimize bacterial adhesion. This combined approach results in natural flushing.
Utiva PAC Concentration & Solubility

Utiva’s UTI Control Supplement is a 240mg extract that is locally made from cranberries and specifically includes PACs extracted from the juice, pulp, and skin.

These PACs are 100% soluble and measured using the DMAC/A2 method to ensure 36mg of soluble PACs are delivered per capsule.

We also include a small portion of insoluble fibers in each capsule as they may provide added benefits to the microbiome in the gut which is being further investigated.

Anti-Adhesion Activity

All Utiva UTI Control batches are sent to Rutgers University to test for Anti Adhesion Activity (AAA) which verifies the ability to stop bacteria from sticking. These tests are conducted by Amy Howell, PhD.

Our anti-adhesion scores are always outstanding, with Utiva ranking high compared to other top leading brands that have soluble PAC products on the market.
